To my absolute delight, Real Madrid did not leave Sergio Ramos out of there starting 11. The game was against Rayo Vallecano and was dubbed a must win for Real to get points to move up in La Liga where they were shamefully ranked at 12. Despite their 2-0 victory over Rayo the team still appeared to be struggling and in poorer form than what they exhibited in the Champions League opening against Manchester City and in previous seasons. Ramos was asked about his exclusion from the Man City game and how he felt about being back in his position and starting in the game. He basically explained that he didn’t know if he was being punished by coach Jose Mourinho, but that these matters are meant to be kept within the “family” or the team. He did not mention the rumors  about Chelsea considering signing him in the January transfer season.  Other players believe that there is still plenty of time to rack up points and move up in standings before the season is over which is months and months away. Barcelona, Real Madrid’s arch rivals are still leading the pack at number 1 with the 15 points maximum. The truly interesting part of this game is what it was postponed a day, do to alleged vandals cutting the power. As a result there was not enough regulation lighting for the game to be played, and the problem could not be fixed until the next day.  This image perhaps best displays the overall sentiment of the players and fans: ronaldo
