This blog will be about club and international soccer, focusing on Real Madrid, and Spanish soccer in general. I will combine current events, stats and standings, with the gossip and drama that comes along with this exciting culture within the world of sports.

The UEFA Champions League tournament which is basically the Euro-Cup of club soccer, the most important and coveted trophy for any professional soccer player has just begun! Yesterday was the start of the group stages and Real Madrid fought tooth and nail to come up with a win in the 90th minutes. Real Madrid has been in the news a lot lately in a negative light. The team is arguably one of the best teams in the world, alongside their epic rivals, Barcelona. Both teams have all star players like Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and both teams have many of the players that make up the Spanish National team wich is currently the World Cup champions, and twice in a row Euro-Cup champions. So there is no limit to the amount of atention and also scrutiny from critics on the teams, players and coach. Anyway, back to Champions League, Real Madrid was put in the toughest group, Group D wich is now being called the group of Death because each of the teams are champions of their own country’s league. The teams competing in group D are Real Madrid, Ajax, Manchester  City, and Dortmond. Despite being the favorites to win, Real Madrid has been off to a rough start in terms of their La Liga standings where they are only at 12th place-Barcelona 1st. In addition to this Chrisitano Ronaldo has been drawing lots of attention to himself not for being ‘sad’ at Real Madrid,  reportedly due to his salary not being as much as he feels he deserves. Luckily he did not let his sadness get in the way and scored the winning goal against Man City in the 90th minute. The final score was 3-2, and they are leading in their group.

Sergio Ramos, the team’s starting central defender and starting player of the Spanish national team was benched at the last minute, rumors are because they got in an argument, where Ramos told the coach not to be so hard on the team after their embarrassing defeat to Seville.
