Tips and Tricks from a Combat Veteran

Who the Heck am I, and What the Heck is this All About?

In a typical week; I am on 2-4 commercial flights, drive over 500 miles, plan and coordinate several major projects, and still have the time to keep in good shape, eat healthy and on top of all that I am a student in college. How in the world do I manage it all without hitting a proverbial (or literal) wall?

I am not from another planet, I did not grow up near a nuclear reactor (although its debatable how helpful that could have been depending on if you’re a DC/Marvel fan), nor do I own a robot butler. I am a pretty normal person.

Just a picture of me

Proof of my human form

That’s me. I grew up in an army family and when old enough, I joined the army. I was born in Stein, Germany and bounced around after that. Today, I am living in Harker Heights, Texas; which is really a suburb of Killeen which is an extension of Ft. Hood.

During my time with the army, especially working with elite infantry units, I have picked up tips, tricks and other tidbits that have popularly become known as life-hacks. These seemingly quirky and at times bizarre traditions that I adhere to allow me to maximize my efficiency and overall quality of life all without being overly complicated and difficult to follow. These are not radical life changes but just alterations to things that you already do. The best part about life-hacks is that they are modular and plug and play. By that I mean you can take things that you like and immediately start using them and only use the things that you are practical to your lifestyle. I have methodological ways of doing everything from how I tie my shoes to how I keep in shape.

I want to share with you my secrets that have worked thus far and maybe some that didn’t work for me particularly well but maybe you can put to better use. If you have better ideas, thoughts or opinions on how something could be done let me know. I am still learning new and better ways to do things to this day and by discussing them with you and getting your feedback; we can all breathe a little easier.
