1. Drink water

As a college student, it is very important to stay hydrated as that will help your day-to-day functions. Water has many great benefits for the skin and body. It is essential for the kidneys and other bodily functions. If you are trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy body weight, drinking water instead of soda or other sugary drinks can aid in maintaining a healthier lifestyle.

2. Take the stairs

Chances are you might not want to take the stairs when going to class and would prefer to take the elevator. You are probably sweating and running late. Try to give yourself enough time in your day to take the stairs instead of the elevator. There are going to be days that you are so busy that you won’t have time to go to the gym or work out, taking the stairs is a great opportunity to get some exercise in on those days you can’t physically step foot in the gym.

3. Get enough sleep

Make sure you are getting enough sleep. With school, having a lot of homework, and working a part-time job, it may be hard to get your full 8 hours of sleep. You need to make a schedule that works for you and try to find times for you to be able to accomplish everything you need too in a given time. That means to try to do your assignments a few days before so that you won’t be up late the night before its due, ruining your sleep schedule. Getting enough sleep is very important. It will help you pay better attention in class and it will allow you to be more productive during the day.

4. Start your assignments before the due date

We can’t stress this enough. Start your assignments within given time. Giving yourself a few days to a week to complete an assignment allows you to put your best work out there, which gives you a better grade. It also allows you to ask questions and get help if needed. Let’s be honest, we’ve all been there. Starting an assignment, the night before its due and having a million questions. We don’t end up getting the best grade and later think of ways we could’ve better completed an assignment. Save yourself the disappointment of a bad grade and give yourself enough time to do your assignments. You will thank yourself.

5. Get a planner

Get yourself a planner. Having a planner will help you be a more organized college student. Making sure you write down all the due dates for your future assignments and exams will help you stay on track. It will also allow you to visually see what you have to get done and allow you to see what you need to prioritize for that week/month.

6. Meet with your professors

Meeting with your professors outside of class sounds intimidating. We know. However, they are such a helpful resource that all college students should utilize! Whether you are having trouble in your classes or wanting a professional’s advice, college professors will be there to help you. Meeting with them will also help you build your job network and can come in handy when you are wanting letters of recommendations for future jobs.
