Saudi Arabia; Women’s rights

Hi folks,

For my diigo assignment  I have bookmarked two YouTube video that mainly talked about women’s rights in Saudi Arabia. Women’s right in Saudi Arabia has been controversial  issue in the middle east and specially Saudi Arabia itself.

The first video was an interview with the Saudi princess Ameerah Altweel, wife of Alwaleed bin Talal Al-Saud, She explains her goals and supports for advocating for women who are asking for their equal right to drive a car. She points out why the ban of women driving can be economic and social barrier for women. Princess Ameerah also mention her support for women’s legal sector. She uses the example of women going to low school and their limitation in practicing their job.

The second video is from TestTube channel. It  briefly talks about King Abdullah achievement in the progress of women’s rights equality in Saudi Arabia. King Abdullah gave the women political, educational and economical rights lead the nation to the right direction toward democratization. In the video, there is brief idea about the new king, King Salman, and what the world may expect from him.
