Shake It Off : One-shot take of Taylor Swift

The purpose of this project was to produce a one-shot take video using moving images while refining craft and image production using digital technologies. The objective was to create a music video for Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” between two sections of the Image Methodology class. The music video used the following techniques: one-take shot, steadicam usage, dance routine, and lip syncing. The video project was introduced separately between the two sections of Image Methodology and began the drafting process by each section coming up with their own ideas for possible themes and scenarios for the Taylor Swift video. After watching various videos made on youtube for this song we came up with video scenes using storyboards. After voting and collaborating with the second section we decided to use the idea of a party happening between the two arts building with the theme of Party Rejects. The idea of starting in Fine Arts people would go from room to room trying to fit in with each “party” group ending up in the room of the digi lab in Trustee to just have their own party. This video was fun as we had to record it all in one take without stopping, but with the help of extras and props the video turned out better than a lot of us expected.
