The purpose of this project was to identify and develop strategies for constructing meaning through making photographic images. We were to find meaning behind a reading and create a metaphor. Reading a series of short stories we were to settle on a story, create a metaphor for it, and then go out and take picture of that metaphor. The process of this project started by me going out to explore my metaphor. After a serious of shoots I then narrowed my object down to one object in relation to the story of learning a new language as the character was in the short story. However, this project really challenged me. I had an idea of creating a metaphor based off a theme about a learning experience, but considering the mood and connotations of a candle my metaphor became weak in connecting with the story. However, the composition of the object in the image was successful, but in terms of acing the project I think I fell behind. The technical skills used for this project was some photography skills, photoshop skills, and concepts of perspective in terms of relation to a short story.
