Who Are We?
We are a group of college students on a mission to explore food accessibility for college students in Central Texas. We know the firsthand difficulties of finding affordable and healthy food during your college years and aim to raise awareness and provide solutions to the challenge.

As a college student, this affects me directly. I often find that sometimes I have to pick between making a simple meal that won’t be as beneficial for me or taking the time to make a healthy meal and risk being late for something. I think it’s super important to make accessible food for all and make healthy, fast options for all and being a part of a group who are on a mission to do this is important to me.

Being a college student myself, I think this topic primarily affects my age demographic. Our topic serves as a good guide for students looking for healthy alternatives in their diet. Eating healthier is a mindset I strive for individually amidst my own busy schedule. As a former athlete, this was always a goal of mine for myself, so expanding upon this to all students is so important to our message of inclusion when providing healthy options.

Growing up, having a good, healthy meal at a reasonable price was always a challenge on its own. So, going to college and having to find healthy, affordable meals myself was something I definitely had to learn and am still learning to this day. Eating right and taking care of yourself is incredibly critical for any college student which is why I believe in helping others in the journey so that they can worry less about meal plans and more about experiencing all that college has to offer.

As a college student, eating healthy has always been important to my daily routine. However, I’ve struggled over the past few years and I hope to guide other students with the newfound knowledge I have learned. I have read many articles over the years on how the food you eat affects the way you learn and process information. Over the years I have experienced a difference in my academic performance when I have made the choice to eat healthily.

In my Freshman year of college, I struggled with my relationship with food, mostly because I never had enough time to think about my nutrition. Trying to balance classes with extracurriculars and social activities is hard enough as it is. It is so important for college students to keep a balanced diet and keep themselves nourished for their time on and off campus.
