Enchanted Rock
Enchanted Rock, located 1 hour 30 from Austin and San Antonio, provides numerous trails for people to explore and it home of the most famous “rock” which people are able to walk to the top and take in the beautiful surroundings. Enchanted Rock has different level hikes which are suitable for every level and fitness, and they include trails which are pet friendly for you to bring your dog, or even ride a horse. Not only are there hiking trails in the park there is a large amount of nature including many places for bird spotting and other nature adventures. While Enchanted Rock is a little further away, it allows for a great relaxing and refreshing day out with friends. Jump in the car and carpool to the park, you won’t regret it!
Barton Creek GreenBelt
Famous with “Austinites” and those from further afield the GreenBelt is an amazing trail to explore in Austin to get some exercise and clear your mind. The GreenBelt stretches 12 miles with the head of the trail located in Zilker Park stretching down to a popular entrance point along highway 360, although there are many access and exit points along the trail enabling for many different routes. The Greenbelt incorporates many different types of trails for different levels, and at many points follows along the river so you hear the sound of the water. Swimming in the summer is very common on the GreenBelt so make sure to prepare accordingly. The GreenBelt is also a very popular place for dogs to hang out, swim and make new friends, whilst their wonders make new friends.
