What does it mean to be an artist?

For me, being an artist means never being satisfied. It is the pursuit of a constantly fleeting level of completion. Whether this completion refers to the skills I seek to master, the journey within myself to attain purpose or inspiration, or the amount of work I put out or revise until I’m satisfied, I am never content. There is always more to learn and more to expand on. More than that though, it’s about taking what I learn and experience in that pursuit and expressing the subject in a way that provokes an internal conversation in the minds of others regarding that issue in their own lives.

What does it mean to have talent?

To have talent is to be born with a mind with natural inclinations towards certain fields. I’d say that it is at it’s most base form, raw inherent ability. It’s just something you’re born with. Different people have different inclinations. Some are artists, some are athletes, some are scientists and more. It is the natural foundation on which we build skill; only, some people build on mountains and some on hills. As I sit here and think about it, it seems almost impossible to gauge. If there were any way it would probably have to be done at a very young age. rabble rabble rabble.
