Internship Presentation

This is an example of a presentation that I did for my internship. I created this presentation based off of the high school seniors going into college. I focused on several of the experiences I had in college and what I did to make things easier. I tried to break it down as best as I could for these kids so they could realize that college is really fun and it is very different from high school.

Biography

I am a senior who is a psychology major at St. Edward’s University and will be graduating on May 9th, 2015. The career I intend to pursue after graduation is working somewhere with kids. I want to become a coach somewhere. I will be looking into the IDEA school program and will be getting more information on that. Until I do that, I plan to work at the Boys & Girls Club in my hometown. The course work that I have completed at St. Edward’s will help me in what I eventually want to do. I eventually want to go to graduate school and become a family counselor. Two courses that I have taken that I feel will connect with what I want to do is Child Development and Marriage and Family Counseling. While in my last semester at St. Edward’s University, I was interning at Bowie High School. I was working with the college and career center where I worked with seniors on getting them prepared to go to college. That dealt with things like scholarships, ACT/SAT tests, college applications, etc. The specific skills I have for the job I am looking for is that I work really well with kids. From all ages. I am very outgoing and helpful. I can get out of my comfort zone and still be successful. I know this would be a good fit for me.
