Step D: Presentation Reflection

When we began the project we had many ways to work around it, and we decided that the best way to do it would be to find links between health care and the other wicked problems. It was challenging in itself to connect all of them but not impossible. One thing that was really helpful was the fact that we had interviews and viewpoints from the entirety of the spectrum. We had wicked problems from the viewpoint of caregivers for young children, young adults, adults, and the elderly. When putting everything together we decided the best way to represent the information would be through different types of media. We had a poster board, powerpoint with videos and the brochures. The color choice was used to represent the colors mostly associated with health care, red and blue. The final project presentation was really fun! Viewing all of the other projects and all of their data really put everything into perspective. It was also a way to realize how some of the wicked problems are more prominent and serious than others. For example how health care, poverty, food security, and housing are more serious issues for the Austin community than the crime aspect. Ironically enough crime should be higher than the rest, but what is Austin if it does not defy the odds.
