Crab walking through a Fisherman's Village

Crab walking through a Fisherman’s Village

We began our exploration of the Pak phanang district at a local fisherman’s village, our first of many in Thailand. After getting our toes in the sand, we watched the villagers bring in boats and buckets of crabs. This became the first of many trips to fisherman’s villages but this beach stood out for the relatively clean beach, clean for Thailand, and the community of villagers and marine life we encountered.

Other Marine creatures typical to markets in Pak Phanang are Penaeus vannamei, Penaeus monodon, Donax variables, Ocypode ceratophthalma, Encrasicholina devisi, Perisesarma bidens, Malayemys subtrijuga, and Himantura jenkinsii.
