Part 1: Based on the notes you took during class, write a brief description and response to the Alumni presentations.

Alejandro was the first guest speaker to present during our seminar. He talked about his work with SXSW and Gaming. I thought it was interesting that he was a Graphic Design Major yet still ended up in the field of gaming which seemed to be his real passion. I though his tips about Passion, Iteration and  Emersion were very helpful. Next Anthony Zubia, he was freelance graphic designer and art director. His story about how he became involved with his previous job was very interesting and inspiring and it illustrated that opportunities can come at anytime. I thought that the way he incorporates humor into his work was very important to. He did not lose his voice even though he was designing for a client. Finally, Edith Valle, a very recent graduate of St. Ed’s was the last to present. Though she did not have a full time job yet, I was most inspired by her work. I really like her style and the meaning behind her work.

Part 2: Many of our successful alumni say that their internship was one of the most valuable experiences they had. By searching the web, find at least 3 potential internships that you are interested in, and post the links on your blog. Many art galleries & non-profits, design firm’s, photo studios, and game companies have internship information on their websites.

These are some internship I plan to look into so that I can complete them over the summer or winter break in San Antonio. These are all graphic design internships and I have some connections with all these business so hopefully that will make it easier for me to get the opportunities.
