The Photograph – Visual Studies I

Mykaelah Ortega

In “The Photograph,” FLusser discusses the views between the artist behind the camera and the average person. I believe that many people don’t see the true beauty behind a photograph. A lot just see a “pretty picture” not the story behind it all. Many tend to see everything in black white which means there is always going to be a right and a wrong answer when, in reality,  situations aren’t always black and white, like a photographs, for instance, if you see a photograph in black and white normally you will re-create a memory or story you remembered and fill in the no color.

Something that I don’t think people realize is how important it is for the photographer to get in touch with the technical side of it all. Many photographers can capture something so beautiful but does not show through the photograph due to the photographers lack of knowledge. Many photographes need to become one the technical side of all photography in order for them to capture the true beauty in it all.
