High Concept, High Touch

This week I learned that just like in Dallas, Austin can’t decide what type of weather it wants to have. It was 100 degrees and sunny Friday morning and by Saturday its raining and 70 degrees. Texas, please make up your mind!

1) In the article “What entrepreneurs can learn from artists”, the main point is that the newer and better business people in the world today are looking at the world in a more artistic way. By looking at the world in an artistic way, business leaders are finding better- more effective ways to solve problems.

In the article ” Are Artists Entrepreneurs?”, the main point is that the artists and entrepreneurs are similar in some cases but also very different in others. Both have a passion for what they do but artists struggle when it comes to setting limits and growing from there.

2) Artists can also learn things from entrepreneurs such as ways to connect to the financial-business world instead of just the humanity side of people. They can also learn how to build something by having a close network of people and companies that want to help them.

3) In someways I agree that artist are like entrepreneurs because artist are able to connect with people and make their point through their work. On the other hand, I disagree because I feel that artists don’t have enough knowledge of how the entrepreneurial world works as far as connections to expand.

4) Out of the 12 Characteristics of Artist that are listed I agree with eight of them. The one’s that say artists are humanists, craftsman, children, rely on intuitions, interdisciplinary thinkers, great storytellers, passionate about their work, and contratians.

5) If I could add some more characteristics I would have to say that artists illustrate themselves through their work. Their work is an extension of themselves and how they see things in the world.
