  1. On Friday we had speakers that were apart of the Game scene, Nate and Anne were apart of the Wildermth project, a game that they have been working on for such a long time. They explained to us their process and how they developed their game all the work they had to go through to get a working Alpha. They also talked to us about making connections and going to conventions that would help us get connections so that we could get to where we wanted to get.

  1. Part 1: Four year Degree plan-2a68au6 I only did half because I do not know how things will go on for the remaining two years I don’t know if I would change majors or not.
    1. How will this major help you prepare a career in the future?
      1. This major has taught me many skills that will help me out in the future for not just the game business but with any job i acquire from this degree. With a variety of classes that help you get a grasp on certain skills those skills may not be used in a game design business but in a photography business or a graphic design studio.
    2. Do you have a back up plan if this major doesn’t work out?
      1. As a IGST major I feel as if my major choice were to fall through I could drop out of college and become a musician in a band. I have also thought about starting my own company but that would require me to get a minor in business which I could do.
  2. Part 2:
    1. Do you have a minor or have you considered a second major?
      1. I have thought about having a Music minor, I decided on this because it is still in the arts area of where I want to be, but I want to have something to fall back on. Not everything goes as planned so I may end up having a better music career than a career in the game industry.

  • Part 1:
    • Last Friday we viewed the work of four upperclassman, one of them was a Interactive game studies major this interested me the most, I was eager to learn more about what my major has to offer. When the IGST major went up I had realized that she had not gone for the actual design but more towards the art work, which is good and is something I have also been conspiring as art is something I like to do in my past time. The IGST major also helped me realize that our field of work is high risk and understandable it’s a field where you either do good or you don’t there is no middle ground. For the other majors the art, graphic design I saw their work and I both liked and was inspired by their work. Graphic design especially as it seems to come easier to me than anything else.

      • I like this artist website because it’s plain and simple, there may not be a bio but you all the work the artist has done.
      • You get a bio along with a store and the ability to check out the artist material. The website is easy to navigate and it’s clean.
      • You get a bio of the artists work and then you get to see and buy some of the artists work. The website design is simple and easy to access.
      • This one I chose because it’s pertains to my major and it clearly shows the games that the developer is working on. The website also has a clean and sharp look with a very cool website design.

Part 1:

  1. The goal of the assignment was to make two collages using lines, shapes, and color to make something new.
  2. I achieved my goal by cutting out things from old pictures and making them into something strange and new, I took things from pictures from past projects and new material to achieve what I wanted.

Part 2:

  1. My strongest aspect is the strangeness of the pieces, I want to achieve something that if someone looked at them they would think “What was he thinking, I bet he was on something when he made this”.
  2. My weakest aspect would have to be having to much blank space in the second one, I could have added allot more and could have made it even better.
  3. I would not change a thing conceptually I feel that is it already an interesting piece to look at.
  4. If I could change it technically I would want to have it on a bigger canvas maybe so that I can increase the size of some of the images on the collage and then make this seem even weirder by having things be very disproportionate.

Will Swan is the lead guitarist and the rapper for the band Dance Gavin Dance, and the guitarist for the band Sianvar thought he is most known for being in Dance Gavin Dance. He is also the founder of Blue Swan Records a record company that signs new upcoming bands. I enjoy Swans work because of the feel he puts into it when you hear his style of playing you can tell that he puts in time and effort into each and every song. Will Swan is a math rock style guitarist, math rock is sub genre and it’s known for how complex the instruments in the band are played, he has a gracefulness to his playing and can still lay it down when it’s necessary. He is graceful in the way that when he plays it’s not harsh you notice it and it’s there but it doesn’t distract from the rest of the song from the rest of the players. I am greatly influenced by his work I try to incorporate gracefulness into my art along with my music. When writing music I try to make it complex yet still enjoyable to listen to because what Swan does is while having the drums, bass, and second guitarist play is add a little bit more personality to the song and that is what I try to do. Will Swan is an idol to me, he was the one who influenced me to play guitar and who has changed the way I looked at the world.

Part #1

During the week I recorded my time usage I realized that I used allot of my time to study instead of to relax and have fun. I should work on having a better schedule so that I can have an equal amount of time allotted for things I want to do. I do spend time with friends when they are free, but I noticed that I spent and unnecessary amount of time and at the wrong times doing homework or studying. In the mornings I have made a habit of studying in order to refresh my mind on the topics of discussion for the classes I have those days. I also have to make sure to do homework not to early in the day, but early enough to where I can still enjoy my day without worrying about my responsibilities.

Part #2

I do draw and I do enjoy graphic design and the work posted below is one of the few things I am proud to have made. It actually came to me during math class I was doodling on my paper and I made a shape and it reminded me of the human face and so I traced it on a piece of paper and enlarged it once I got home. I got the inspiration for the actual piece by one of my dearest friends. I don’t have a name for it because I can’t seem to find anything suitable for it but it is currently the cover art for an EP that I am working on.

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)

…or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.
