My studies

The more I got into the book the more I got inspired by my little brother. When it came to sequencing I began to think as he would. I even went as far as asking him to help me make up the story line. After I completed my book I see a few minor problems. My cutting was off a little bit and my folding could be better. Over all at this point I am pretty happy with the book.

Bills Pictures were really inspiring. I love looking at his work and interpreting it. It was really cool to see what possible things that I could do in the future.

As for Hollis it amazed me on how big of projects she does and how far she goes to get it done. I love the fact that she uses her past as her inspiration.

Joe Made me laugh when he said he didn’t consider himself an artist because sometimes it is hard for me to do the same thing.

Alex gave me a new look on to things especially the fact that her and Hollis share a studio together.

I really like Tammie and how she uses everyday items to create abstract pieces that make you want to touch them but you really can’t.

Over all it really inspired me that they all could do what they loved and still teach their craft to others. It really is amazing that they chose to do this with their lives. they really do all impact us and it is a wonderful thing.

My five year plan

I hope after college to apprentice under someone or even work with my internship for a long term. While doing that I hope to do lots of free lancing. While I do not plan on living in Austin my life I hope to travel and take my camera with me and impact the world with my photography. Even maybe one day have a magazine similar to National Geographic.

I believe that all I need to do this is have faith in myself and never lose sight of the end goal. Taking everything I have learned and applying it. Getting resources and keeping good contacts will also be very important as well.

Now that I am laying it all out my creativity is being to flow. I almost feel like I want to continue working on the book after I am done. I love the font that I found it reminds me of a frog.  I am also starting to think more about the story line and re writing somethings. I decided that I am dedicating this book to my little brother who inspires me everyday to do the art that I do.

The Photographer really inspired me. I thought it was so cool that he has met so many interesting people. His job is bad ass that he gets to work on sets. Not to mention he got to meet Willy Nelson!

My ideas are going really well. When it came to doing my contact sheets I has a lot of problems because of me shooting in raw. My story line of Mr. Fog finding his home is coming out just the way I planned. I am still trying to figure a font I want but other than that is its going great!

For this project I picture a toy frog looking for a home in the gardens. The book will consist of him and his journey through the garden. Please excuse my bad drawings!

The counselor that came in was really helpful. It made me realize that I need to really start thinking about not only next semester but sophomore year as well. Even though I know what I want to do with my future I need to also plan for a emergency back up plan as well.

If I decide to travel abroad I would go to Denmark or England. Ever since I was little that has been something I have wanted to do. Also the beauty in both places i think would be amazing to capture and record with photography.

I am actually apart of a lot of groups right now! I am a CABRA member as a photographer. I am also in Hilltop Hospitality. Recently i became Photodirector for a new organization on campus called Spoon university. It teaches college students not only how o eat better but how to cook on a budget. I like to think of it as a Tasty and Buzzfeed mix!

I really related to Camille Dolans well mostly because I could not understand Abbas. She too is a graphic designer and I hope one day I can do things similar to what she has done. She also really surprised me because of how above and beyond she went for her senior project. Her Lucile project had a great concept and she brought herself to her work and I really loved that. The most valuable thing I got from her was not  necessarily said but implied. I came away with the knowledge that any work you do is important even if the internship is paid or not it is valuable experience. Also you can go so many different places with just one degree that almost anything is possible.

I had tried watching Memento before but i could never get into it. I always really confused me but now that i know the sequencing was supposed to be off i could better understand the movie. I think know it made the movie more interesting by telling the story in a backward fashion it added more suspense to the movie. I like how it slowly revealed things about the character that help build the plot. After watching this movie I am interested in watching the other movies if they are anything like this one when it come to sequencing.

Computer skills:

1. My computer skills include: Work really well with photoshop and indesign.
2. I still need to learn: i would like to learn more about lightroom and illustrator.

1. My greatest strengths as a researcher/writer include: interviewing process is what i do best.
2. I need to work on these aspects of research and writing: the writing part really challenges me. I need to be more creative with my detail.
3. I learn best & accomplish most when: I am alone and have clear mind.

Not worry so much on what others think.

Have confidence.

Talk to professor.

And honestly I really don’t know how I could do better in general art is challenging for me.
