My Bloody Valentine

This video made me the most uncomfortable of the three. The video is extremely white. I can barely see the people, except for the one guy wearing black. I can tell it was made in the 90s, because of the poor coloring and looking like some parts were at half speed. Most of the video was close-ups and some of the girl dancing and that just really made me uncomfortable. I also cannot tell what the lyrics are, it just sounds like moans.

Cocteau Twins

This video invoked the same feeling as the My Bloody Valentine video. It contained the same type of close-ups only the video was much darker. Much like the My Bloody Valentine video, I cannot understand the lyrics.

Lush

This video has the same kind of weird close-ups but done in a better way. It has a lot more color, which I like, but there’s too much going on. It’s like it has two different feeds on the right and left sides of the screen, and there’s like a fire overlay and graphics being displayed in the background. Then there’s the lighting of those graphics. It’s just a crazy video, and the graphics made me think of Captain America, but only because of the star symbol.

All in all, they are old videos so the poor quality does not help them, but I did not like the videos. The Lush video was definitely the least bad of the three, but if I saw any of them I would probably turn it off.

Blog Post #9

Part 1

Alejandro Ura – I liked Alejandro’s presentation and his story of his introduction to the gaming industry.

Anthony M. Zubia – I think Anthony’s designs used humor really well. He displayed important information in funny and attention grabbing ways.

Edith Valle – I really liked how Edith had a personal connection to her work. Her work frequently involved around her own culture and it resulted a lot of colorful work.

Harmony – Hybrid

The black and blue collage is focused on shape, different rectangles exactly. The red circle collage is focused on shape, symmetry, and color. I did not have a lot of idea for this phase, and everything I tried did not work at all. I feel these work because I tried to make them harmonious through shape and color.
