Domain I: Designing Instruction and Assessment to Promote Student Learning

Artifact 1: This artifact contains a formative assessment on the ecological interactions between different organisms in a given environment. The assessment differentiates material and takes into consideration the differing levels of readiness and cognitive development in the students. Since adolescents are still in the concrete operational phase of their development, they require concrete objects to form higher level understanding. This assignment is based on a student’s learning of ecological interactions through their personal manipulations of organisms in an organism exploration lab.
