Did you change your spring break plans because of the virus? From what to what?

I didn’t have to change my plans but family members that were suppose to come and visit from out of state had to cancel their plans. This meant our plans here in Texas got put on hold until everything is over and they can come here to see us, or we can go see them.

How did you feel when you were informed the remainder of the semester would be held online?

I felt fine I took online courses over the summer with ACC so I wasn’t worried about school work I was just disappointed that I couldn’t see my friends or be part of SEU life anymore like I used to.

Where will you be living while courses are held online? Is this a change from usual?

I am a commuter so I don’t live on campus, like a lot of students so there was nothing for me to pack up or move. I’m still where I used to be it’s just strange not being able to leave as often as I used to because of Covid-19.

What has been your experience with moving classes online? What’s good? What’s not so good?

Moving classes online was so-so, in some classes the change was smooth and in others it was bumpy and still doesn’t work totally right.

How has the virus (and the precautions taken to prevent it spreading) impacted your daily life?

The virus has made it challenging to connect with others, I had two Zoom birthday parties I went to last week that in a normal world I would have been present. This virus is having a definite impact on my life socially as well as my families.

How worried are you about getting the virus?

Not much, I’m in contact with the few people right now.

Do you know anyone who has gotten COVID-19?

Possibly but there wasn’t enough testing when they got it to know if they had Covid-19 for sure.

Are you staying in? What are you doing to pass the time?

I am staying in. To pass the time I play games with my siblings like cards or bacci. I’ve been teaching myself how to cook, my most recent project is tailoring a dress extensively. I’ve also been doing alot of school work, watching TV, and playing video games.

Are you going out? Where do you go and what is it like?

I go to a local park once a week and practice social distancing just so I can see something new it’s hard for me to be creative when I see the same exact thing every day. The park is strange people are very odd and weary of other’s. I have an 11 month old Corgi puppy who has a lot of energy so I bring him with me.

What is giving you hope and/or strength right now?

My friends and the thought that this will all be a distant memory one day.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about what you’re feeling or experiencing right now?

I’m experiencing some feelings of anger towards our government and how it is dealing with this crisis. I am angry with our president for how he is running everything. Right now I’m angry at protesters here in the Capitol for endangering their lives, their families lives, and the lives of healthcare workers in Travis county, around the State of Texas, and in the United States at large. I am happy that I get to spend more time with my family, and I’m getting to work on and learn the things, I don’t have time for normally to tackle.
