Did you change your spring break plans because of the virus? From what to what?

Not really. I knew I was going to work, but bc of this Im working almost everyday. I work at H-E-B and we are all working around the clock making sure fellow Texans are getting access to groceries.

How did you feel when you were informed the remainder of the semester would be held online?

Weird, I’m so used to driving to school and seeing my classmates. But one of my classes requires everything to be done at the studio and now I won’t be able to do it. For my other classes it’s going to be awkward having to get on a videocall from home.

Where will you be living while courses are held online? Is this a change from usual?

No I live off campus. I will say it will save me a lot of money and time since I live almost 40 minutes away from campus.

What has been your experience with moving classes online? What’s good? What’s not so good?

Uhh so far I’ve been barely able to keep up with emails and have to read through the new updated syllabuses.

How has the virus (and the precautions taken to prevent it spreading) impacted your daily life?

So much. At work we have implemented a huge amount of rules to decrease and contact with customers and partners. We have to stand 6 feet apart at all times and constantly sanitize our hands and registers.

How worried are you about getting the virus?

Honestly yes I am bc my immune system is kinda wack. And because of work I come into contact with over a hundred people everyday who come from various towns. It’s scary to think that sooner than later something will happen. And I don’t want to bring it home to my family.

Do you know anyone who has gotten COVID-19?

Not at the moment. Although one of my uncles was exposed to it because of his boss’s mom who tested positive. But we don’t know if he has it yet.

Are you staying in? What are you doing to pass the time?

When I’m not working yes I’m staying home with my cat and watching Scooby-Doo.

Are you going out? Where do you go and what is it like?

I’ve started running again, and I live out in the country so I feel safe about going outside. It helps take my mind off everything that’s going on.

What is giving you hope and/or strength right now?

Once lent is over I can finally eat pastries. So I’m looking forward to eating a whole cake by myself come Easter morning.

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about what you’re feeling or experiencing right now?

Just weird how everything was okay not even 2 weeks ago. But I guess that’s how it be sometimes.
