Blog Post #4
Part I
The first photo is called “The lion sleeps tonight” and is prism color pencils.
The over all goal of this project was to help me try something new and accomplish it. It was definitely a personal photo, its my own cat, and before this I had never done a detailed animal like this one. I reached my goal really well because I completed my project in a timely manner and it turned out just how I had wanted it to.
Part II
- What is the strongest aspect of this work?: Probably my ability to convey the light and make it obvious I was darkening it as i went outward.
- What is the weakest aspect?:The left ear is obviously not as nice as the second ear. I got really impatient and my quality paidthe price.
- How can the project be strengthened conceptually?: I probably could’ve chosen a more creative subject.
- How can the project be strengthened technically?: The whiskers should’ve been more sharp
- Additional notes. : I over all love this piece of mine and would do it again. The second photo is called “I hate strawberries” and is also in prism color pencils.
The over all goal of this project was to have me play my strengths and practice technique. I think I did accomplish my goal, the strawberries were everything I wanted and I was extremely happy with how they came out.
- What is the strongest aspect of this work?: I think the strongest aspect is the vibrant reds and my ability to show the stains the strawberries left on their background.
- What is the weakest aspect?: The weakest is obviously the knife and the loss in connection that the viewer has with it. It defiantly can be better.
- How can the project be strengthened conceptually?: Maybe next time I should focus on just the strawberries.
- How can the project be strengthened technically?: Again I should’ve just focused on my strengths and kept just the strawberries.
- Additional notes.: I like this project but I regret the knife so much.
