The longer you’re in college, the easier it gets to put your homework off till the last minute.

time management

All college students have procrastinated a few times during their years. I took to halls of the Munday Library at St. Edward’s University to find three students finishing their undergraduate studies and get their points of view on managing time and how their work ethic has evolved.

Travis Lange, a senior in Communications, has gotten the hang of getting things done on time. As a sophomore, he learned – the hard way – what it was like to work on a project at the last minute. However, he managed to work with what he had and ended with a decent grade.

Joining Travis in a joint interview is Lucas Boyd, also a senior in Communications, who shared some thoughts on how he thinks the male student population deals with their workload in comparison to females. As friends, Lucas and Travis were very honest about their methods of procrastination and what they do to take a break.

And if what Lucas said is true, Carolina Rodriguez proves it. Carolina is a professional wakeboarder who represents Mexico in competitions and tournaments. Cramming all of her studying and homework is a constant pressure in her life. With all the travelling and training she does for her professional athletic career, she’s managed to stay on top of her undergraduate studies and approach her professors about her assignments and grades.

As for all other college pals, the struggle will only get worse if you ignore your assignments. Take advice from surrounding upperclassmen on what are their best ways to deal with assignments and exams. You just gotta keep swimming.
