Visual Studies Seminar: Blog Post #7

I really liked Camille’s presentation. Her slides were very colorful and alluring. She is a fantastic artist.  She briefly explained her business, Cratejoy, a subscription-based box business. I really liked that she decided that her project for the Senior Show, Lucine, dealt with alternatives to pills for relieving stress and anxiety. As someone who has suffered and still sometimes suffers from stress and/or anxiety, I am interested to see what all these alternatives are. For this reason, I’d say I related more to Camille than to Abbas.

Due to how bad the Skype connection was, I had a VERY hard time understanding what Abbas was talking about. Upon visiting his website however, I believe I’ve gotten a better idea of what he was talking about. His designs are quite impressive, to say the least. It seems that one of his biggest campaigns (if not his biggest) is his Brisk-Kinda Out There, which deals with various methods to get your brand noticed by “bringing them to life” through the use of creating shorts that feature said brand character and figuring out how to communicate with the audience via social media in a way that the audience understands and appreciates. I’ll have to keep his website in mind in the future.
