Photography is being able to capture a moment and make it last for a lifetime. We are then able to take these moments and cherish them. These images are comprised of color and shape to make one whole meaningful look. In this article it discussed the different elements of photography and how they all work together to make one image. The article also related the real world to a photograph to talk about how black and white in the real world dose not exist, but in photography it dose. Being able to view black and white images can’t be done without the color grey. The grey color of theory relates to theoretical images. When talking about the color green the article discuses how green is more of an abstract color. This then leads to the idea of color in an image. Color being added to an image is abstract. Color and black and white images both become interesting when the photographer knows how to work the camera.

Adding on to the grey theory it is meant to show how nothing is just back or white but merely a mixture of everything resulting in a gray out come. This grey out come is used to represent anything being abstract and noting being just one-sided. Everything is a mixture of something. When color comes into play it represents the different sides to a photograph and the person taking the picture. Color is used to show the abstract formulas to a photograph. The colors add more depth to the photo. Compared to black and white photos that make the picture more one-sided and easier to comprehend.

In color photography you are able to view more details of a photograph in a different way compared to black and white photography. Color can be used to show emotions, if you are not photographing a person. In a landscape for example we can see that color plays a role to set the setting and the mood the photographer is trying to convey. Using black and white lowers the depth of how a picture can be conveyed by the viewer. The use of black and white makes the picture easier for the viewer to look at the subject.

In conclusion when thinking about black and white or color photography we have to keep in mind the depth of how we want our photograph to come through. Each one is used in it’s own way and is really up to the photographer and what they think will fit the setting and overall style of the work.
