Shampoo Au Naturale

So just recently i’ve been looking into making my own shampoo. I have not been able to experiment with the recipe but i’m really determined to make it work. Shampoo is expensive, resource intensive, and also loaded with a lot of ingredients we can’t pronounce. It’s quite disconcerting when you realize that you put this directly onto your scalp so here are a couple recipes that can help:

Recipe 1

  1. ½ cup distilled water
  2. ¼ cup liquid castile soap
  3. 2 tsp oil of your choice (avocado, coconut, olive)
  4. 1/8 tsp peppermint essential oil (optional, for smell)
  5. 1 tsp vegetable glycerin (optional, gives the shampoo a little more “body”)

Recipe 2

  1. 1/4 cup coconut milk
  2. 1/3 cup liquid castile soap
  3. 1 tsp oil
  4. 10 drops of essential oils (optional)

Recipe 3

  1. 1 can full fat coconut milk (about 13.5 oz)
  2. 2 tbsp liquid raw honey
  3. 1 tsp jojoba oil
  4. 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  5. 1 tsp essential oils of choice (optional)

Let me know if you try any of these out, how they worked for you, and if you have and suggested tweaks to the recipes!!
